Important: Digital content is not automatically refundable after lawful supply; faults, non-delivery and statutory cancellation protections remain enforceable. |

1. Introduction and scope
This Refund Policy governs requests concerning purchases of DateFoundry digital tokens, packs of likes, virtual gifts and any separately identified paid membership or online service. DateFoundry is operated by AMORIAX LTD and delivers its products to an individual Account rather than shipping physical goods. The policy explains when an order may be reversed, how non-delivery or a defect is investigated, what happens to credited entitlements and how card disputes interact with our support process. It applies together with the Terms & Conditions, Payment Policy, Cancellation Policy and Digital Product Fulfilment Policy.
A user cannot be required to surrender compulsory consumer remedies by accepting a label such as “no refunds”, clicking a general Terms box or receiving a digital credit without the legal conditions for immediate delivery having been satisfied. We distinguish discretionary goodwill requests from cancellation rights, faulty digital content, duplicate charging and unauthorised payment claims. The statutory position always prevails where it gives a stronger remedy.
2. Company details and contact
The contracting seller is AMORIAX LTD, company number 17502222, trading as DateFoundry, with registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. The dedicated contact route for refunds, payment concerns, complaints and chargeback reconciliation is info@datefoundry.com. State “Refund request” and a transaction identifier in the subject line to help locate the relevant records.
We may need to verify that the requester controls the Account or payment involved before revealing order information or making a sensitive change. Please provide the date, purchased item, displayed currency, amount, account email, order reference and a concise explanation. Do not send a full card number, card security code or password. We aim to handle straightforward requests without requiring unnecessary personal information.
3. General position on digital-content refunds
A delivered token, like or gift is a licensed digital platform function, not a cash deposit, transferable stored value or investment. Once validly supplied and usable, an ordinary change of mind does not automatically entitle the buyer to a discretionary refund outside any statutory cancellation right. However, “delivered” requires more than an issuer authorisation: the entitlement must be correctly credited or made accessible. A cancelled or ineffective authorisation is not a completed sale.
Digital content must conform to its description and applicable standards under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We assess remedies such as correction, replacement, price reduction or refund where required. We do not treat a gift that has been sent as creating an obligation for another member to reply. Entitlements delivered to the wrong Account, duplicated debits and an item that cannot function are investigated on their merits.
Virtual units may be delivered instantaneously yet remain subject to legally required remedies. The fact that a Like was sent, or a Gift was displayed to a recipient, does not determine whether the underlying contract was validly formed, the correct quantity was supplied or the statutory cancellation exception applies. The claim is decided by the product’s contractual category and the actual payment/delivery evidence, not by the operator’s label.
4. Transactions that may qualify
Potentially eligible cases include an accepted payment that produced no usable units, a materially incorrect quantity or feature, a fault we cannot correct within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience, a duplicated charge, a demonstrably unauthorised transaction or an eligible exercise of a statutory cancellation right. We also review a product withdrawn before a buyer could use a substantial part of the paid entitlement. Evidence is weighed fairly and the proposed remedy should address the actual failure.
For technical defects, we may first offer a working credit, restore functionality or provide a suitable replacement where this is permitted by law. A consumer may be entitled to a price reduction or refund when repair or replacement is impossible or unsuccessful, or where applicable law specifies a different remedy. We will not force acceptance of store credits in place of a mandatory monetary refund.
5. Transactions normally not eligible
Examples that ordinarily do not justify a discretionary refund include a fully usable item consumed as described, an unreciprocated like, a gift that failed to produce a romantic response, a poor-quality conversation with another user or regret after a lawful and properly disclosed purchase. A user who sends a gift to an intended recipient cannot normally reclaim it simply because the recipient declines contact. A purchase made with valid authorisation is not defective merely because another member changes their mind.
These examples do not defeat rights arising from misleading pre-contract descriptions, unlawful charges, material service failures, lack of required consent for immediate digital supply, or other mandatory protections. We review a claimed difference between the product displayed at checkout and the functionality actually granted. Severe account suspension caused solely by the operator's mistake may also affect the appropriate financial outcome.
6. Timing of requests
Contact us as soon as reasonably possible after discovering a missing entitlement, unexpected debit or significant defect. Early notice assists reconciliation because bank authorisations and platform ledger events can occur at different times. We do not impose a private deadline that removes a statutory right or limits a cardholder's scheme rights. An internal investigation target should not be confused with a legal limitation or cancellation period.
A purchaser of a period-based service may request early performance but is not automatically treated as having waived all cancellation rights. Any appropriate proportionate charge for a service supplied before a valid cancellation depends on the governing statutory conditions. We identify the legal product category and the actual commencement of performance rather than treating the first login as full performance of every service.
An eligible consumer’s statutory cancellation period generally lasts 14 days from the relevant contract conclusion for these distance-sold services or intangible digital supplies. Where immediate digital content is supplied before that period ends, loss of the cancellation right is relied upon only if the purchaser expressly consented in advance, acknowledged the loss of the right, supply began and the required durable confirmation was supplied. An ongoing service with early performance is analysed separately; a partial payment for service already performed requires the statutory conditions and does not automatically arise for a token bundle.
7. Information we may request
Provide the registered account email, payment date, amount and currency, order or invoice number, exact item, confirmation received and a description of the expected and actual result. For non-delivery, tell us whether the Account balance, gift history or relevant action became available. A redacted screenshot may help, but you should conceal personal conversations or financial details unnecessary for the issue.
For an unauthorised payment, we may request the date, partial card identifier and whether you still control your Account; an issuer may conduct its own separate investigation. Our questions should be proportionate to the claim, and inability to supply a screenshot will not automatically defeat a valid statutory right. If the request relates to a third-party Account, we may require suitable proof of entitlement before discussing private records.
8. Investigation process and service standards
We aim to acknowledge a complete request within two Business Days and reach an initial reasoned decision within ten Business Days after receiving sufficient information. Complex cases may need information from a card acquirer, processor or technical supplier; we will explain a material delay and provide a case reference. A contractual service goal does not postpone any shorter mandatory deadline. For qualifying statutory cancellation, reimbursement is made without undue delay and within the period required by law.
Investigators compare the processor's payment status with the internal order, credit, redemption and reversal logs. We assess whether an authorisation was captured, whether the correct Account received a usable entitlement and whether an apparent duplicate is only a temporary bank hold. Decisions should identify the category of issue, relevant evidence and remedy, allowing the customer to contest an error.
For statutory cancellation, our internal ten-Business-Day review target cannot extend a legal reimbursement deadline. We will determine the applicable deadline from receipt of the cancellation notice and initiate reimbursement without undue delay within the time required by law; enquiries about an unrelated security investigation do not permit indefinite withholding. For a defective product, we will explain whether repair, replacement, price reduction or refund is appropriate and why.

9. Types of outcome
An investigation may result in cancellation of a pending authorisation, a correction to the entitlement ledger, replacement credits, restoration of an inaccessible item, a partial price reduction, a full original-method refund or a reasoned refusal. We do not promise a particular outcome before reviewing whether the purchase was authorised, delivered and conforming. Where the buyer has received part of a separable bundle, a proportionate adjustment may be appropriate under applicable rules.
If a refund is approved, we normally return money through the original payment method and notify the customer of initiation and the reference available from the processor. If the original method has expired, the provider's lawful refund procedure applies; we do not invite customers to send a different card number in plain email. We may separately remove the corresponding digital licence and reverse unspent units to prevent duplicate benefits.
An Order containing several units may be partly used or partly defective. We examine whether individual functions can be separated fairly and whether the statutory remedy concerns all or part of the order; no automatic per-unit formula overrides a legal right to a different remedy. Any monetary reimbursement is made using the lawful original-method path, rather than substituting an unrequested bundle of credits.
10. Delivery failure and technical defect
A payment that was captured but did not credit the Account requires investigation as a delivery failure. Check the relevant token balance, purchased-like counter or sent-gift history, then contact support with the receipt if no usable entitlement appears after 24 hours. We may reconcile background logs, correct account mapping or reissue a genuine missing item. Do not purchase the same bundle repeatedly to test whether it works; repeated authorisations can create several distinct orders.
If an item was credited but cannot be used due to a fault in the platform, we will investigate whether it is a temporary outage, account-specific restriction or product defect. A workaround that significantly inconveniences the consumer is not necessarily an adequate remedy. Where a compliant correction cannot be provided within the applicable legal standard, a refund or price reduction may be required.
11. Duplicate, incorrect or misapplied charges
A bank may display an authorisation hold before a payment settles, and that hold is not always a second captured charge. We distinguish a pending authorisation from a settled debit and identify whether the platform created one or more distinct orders. If two settled charges arose from a system error for a single intended purchase, the unintended charge will be reversed and any duplicated benefits reconciled. We will explain the expected time for a cancelled hold to disappear where the issuer controls it.
If a customer intentionally placed two orders, we review each purchase under the ordinary digital-content and cancellation rules rather than automatically treating one as a mistake. A mismatch between a quoted currency and charged amount is assessed using the final payment screen, processor settlement information, tax treatment and any issuer conversion fees. We do not misdescribe an issuer's exchange-rate charge as an undisclosed DateFoundry fee.
12. Unauthorised transactions and fraud
If you do not recognise a charge, secure your Account, contact your bank or card issuer promptly and email us the transaction date, amount and partial card details. We may protect the Account while checking login, purchase and delivery events. A credible unauthorised-payment report is not treated as abuse merely because a card dispute is opened. We will work with the payment provider to identify an appropriate outcome while respecting legal confidentiality and privacy safeguards.
Where a member knowingly uses another person's payment instrument without authority or exploits stolen credentials, DateFoundry may restrict purchases and reverse wrongfully obtained benefits. Such action follows evidence and does not remove a legitimate buyer's remedy. We do not instruct a consumer to misstate the reason for a card dispute, withdraw a valid report or pay an extra fee as a condition of investigating the issue.
13. Relationship with chargebacks and disputes
You may contact DateFoundry first so that a clear delivery failure or duplicate charge can be resolved quickly: provide the order reference, amount, date, purchase description and what went wrong. We acknowledge the claim, review processor and ledger evidence, and propose correction or a refund where justified. If the outcome is disputed, you may contact the card issuer or payment provider under the applicable rules. Contacting us first is encouraged, but it is not a waiver or mandatory prerequisite to statutory or card-scheme remedies.
When a chargeback is already open, tell support the issuer's reference if available. To avoid double reimbursement, a merchant-side refund and a card-network credit must be reconciled rather than paid twice. We may submit accurate order, authentication, delivery and communication records to our provider for the dispute process; intimate profile content should not be disclosed unless relevant, necessary and lawful. A bank decides scheme disputes according to its procedures.
A customer can contact their issuer at any time within applicable card-scheme or legal rules. Contacting DateFoundry first may be faster for an obvious duplicate debit or missing credit, but is voluntary and does not waive the issuer route. During a chargeback we may supply an accurate invoice, authentication event, digital-delivery ledger and correspondence. We must not demand that the consumer withdraw a good-faith scheme dispute before assessing a separate statutory complaint.
14. Effect of a refund on virtual currency, items and accounts
Refunding a token pack normally reverses the unused tokens associated with that order and ends the corresponding licence. A refunded like pack may result in removal of unused actions, and a refunded gift may be withdrawn or marked invalid if it remains technically retrievable. A refund cannot guarantee removal of a digital representation already seen by its recipient. Where benefits were used before a lawful reimbursement, we assess any adjustment under the applicable legal rules rather than imposing an undisclosed automatic debt.
If a disputed order is reversed while an Account remains open, the ledger may temporarily show a restriction until the credited units and transaction are reconciled. Closure of an Account ordinarily extinguishes its remaining non-transferable digital rights; the Cancellation Policy governs closure separately. Neither extinguishment nor reversal negates a customer's claim arising from a seller's failure to deliver conforming content.
Reversing a purchased entitlement must be coordinated with the platform ledger: an approved refund removes corresponding unused units or available rights where lawful, but must not erase messages already sent to another person or expose the recipient to punitive conduct. If technical reversal of a delivered gift is impossible, we will still address the buyer’s valid monetary remedy and reconcile the ledger without creating fictional credits or penalising an innocent recipient.
15. Taxes, fees, currency and processing
A refund is calculated from the amount appropriately due for reimbursement in the purchase currency, including taxes where required. We normally route approved card refunds to the original payment method. The card issuer may convert the credit using a rate different from the original purchase rate or apply account-specific charges beyond our control. We do not deduct a unilateral handling or refund-administration fee from a mandatory consumer reimbursement.
Approved refunds are initiated without undue delay and within 14 days where statutory cancellation rules require that deadline. Once initiated, an issuer credit typically appears within five to ten Business Days, although actual posting varies by provider, card type and settlement calendar. If the amount cannot be located after that period, request the refund reference from support for your issuer's tracing process.
16. Cancellation and statutory rights
A request to close an Account is not automatically an exercise of the right to cancel a specific purchase. Conversely, a timely and valid statutory cancellation request does not necessarily require you to close the Account. We assess the goods or services covered, contract date, commencement of supply, any express early-supply consent and acknowledgement, and the required confirmation. A consumer who did not validly lose a digital-content cancellation right is not deemed to have waived it simply by opening an account.
If a separately priced membership includes continuing services, the legal treatment of a cancellation during its initial period may differ from that of instantly delivered digital tokens. Any applicable right to end future renewals must be available through a straightforward route and cannot be conditioned on repurchasing tokens. The Cancellation Policy explains practical steps while preserving rights under relevant UK and mandatory local rules.
Account closure and cancellation of an optional renewal are separate instructions. A voluntary account deletion does not itself establish grounds for refunding already conforming digital purchases, and a refund request should not accidentally terminate an unrelated paid service. An unlawful charge, missing delivery or mandatory withdrawal can support reimbursement even when the customer has already closed the Account.
17. Abuse and repetitive claims
We may investigate deliberately falsified receipts, manipulation of a payment session to obtain duplicate units or repeated claims for the same already reimbursed order. A reasonable evidence-based restriction may protect the platform and other members. The existence of several genuine technical problems, good-faith complaints or card disputes does not by itself establish abuse or remove a consumer's right to an impartial assessment.
We will not penalise a customer for reporting fraud, exercising legal cancellation rights or asking for correction of a purchase. Before imposing a serious account restriction for apparent misuse, we consider the available order evidence and offer an appropriate explanation when doing so does not compromise safety or an investigation. Serious deliberate wrongdoing may also be referred to competent authorities where lawful.
18. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in checkout design, entitlement delivery, statutory requirements or service standards. The conditions disclosed when an order was accepted remain relevant to that transaction, and a later policy cannot retroactively remove rights or authorise an undisclosed charge. Where a material change affects an existing paid service, we will provide reasonable information and legally required remedies.
The current version is published on DateFoundry. If you need to identify which version applied to a disputed Order, provide the payment date and receipt so the issue can be considered in context. A revision will not extinguish a timely complaint submitted under an earlier version or a mandatory limitation period.
19. Contact and escalation
Send billing and refund issues to info@datefoundry.com, with the Account email, date, amount, currency, item and order reference. We aim to acknowledge within two Business Days and decide within ten Business Days of receiving sufficient information, without delaying statutory reimbursements. If the response appears inconsistent with the evidence, reply with the case number and the disputed point for a further review.
This Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights applicable to consumers elsewhere. You retain access to your issuer's dispute route, courts and applicable public bodies. Do not send complete card numbers or passwords. Legal correspondence can also be directed to the registered office shown above.
20. Age, minors and purchase authority
DateFoundry is restricted to adults aged 18 or older. A minor may not hold an Account or purchase tokens, likes or virtual gifts, and parental ownership of a card does not remove the age restriction. If a payment appears to have been made by a child or without the cardholder's authority, contact the issuer promptly and inform our support team. We investigate the status of the charge, any delivered entitlement and applicable rights without treating the ordinary no-change-of-mind policy as an automatic answer.
We may request proportionate age or ownership verification, restrict a suspected underage Account and protect its information under data-protection and safeguarding duties. No customer is required to disclose full card credentials or a child's intimate private information to request a review. The statutory treatment of an unauthorised payment or cancellation takes precedence over a contractual restriction on transfers or refunds.
21. Operational Review Flow
First identify whether the payment is still an authorisation hold or a settled transaction. Second, find the product and associated Account entitlement. Third, classify the problem as non-delivery, defect, duplicate charge, unauthorised activity, statutory cancellation or discretionary goodwill. Fourth, acknowledge the consumer and request only necessary evidence. Fifth, review the transaction, delivery and consent records against the applicable contract and law, then communicate a clear remedy or the reasons for refusal.
When reimbursement is due, initiate it to the original payment method within the relevant deadline, record the processor reference and reconcile any credited virtual entitlement to prevent inconsistency. If a card dispute is open, coordinate records so the same charge is not credited twice. Finally, tell the customer how to obtain further review, which rights remain available and whom to contact if the bank does not show the expected credit.
